Babies’ teeth should be brushed starting from the first milk tooth eruption. Brushing should be done with a sterile gauze cloth or silicone-based finger brushes that will be wrapped around the finger after breakfast and before going to sleep at night.
Normal brushing starts at the age of 2-2.5. Brushing should be started after the age of 5 with fluoride toothpastes and the paste should be applied to the brush as a swab. Brushing with water is sufficient until that age.
The most important of the brushing times is structured before going to sleep at night. Because at night the saliva flow is very reduced and the bruise develops faster.
Tooth decay is a disease that can be transmitted from mother to child. Close contact of the child with his mother or caregiver (for example: the mother takes a controlled spoon of formula to her mouth, controls the flow of the bottle in her own mouth, kisses the baby close to the mouth area…) causes the caries-causing bacteria in their mouths to infect the child.
